Studio Ghibli, the renowned Japanese anime feature film studio was founded in 1985 and has produced 17 animated films. With 16 of these being critically acclaimed and one of them (‘Spirited Away’) winning an Oscar for Best Animated Feature in 2002, Studio Ghibli and its considerable fan base have helped spawn the celebration of the anime film genre to a worldwide level.
We’re big anime fans here at Mokio and we’re excited to hear that The Prince Charles Cinema has Studio Ghibli Sundays during July and August screening 6 of the feature films including Princess Mononoke and Howl’s Moving Castle. Tickets for Studio Ghibli Sundays at The Prince Charles Cinema are £7.50 for non-members and £5 for members per screening.
If you’d prefer to have your anime in the form of an overdose then The Prince Charles Cinema is also holding a Studio Ghibli Marathon on 27th July starting at 9pm with 6 of the feature films including Castle in the Sky and My Neighbour Totoro. Tickets are £22.50 for members and £25 for members.
